Godwin, a Xylem brand, offers a broad product line of fully automatic self-priming pumps used in temporary and permanent applications. With a full range of diesel and electric pumps available to purchase or rent, Godwin pumps are used for dewatering and liquids transfer in mining, constructions, municipal and industrial projects around the world.

The Role: Godwin, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Level I Pump Repair Mechanic to be responsible for trouble-shooting, maintaining, servicing and repairing Xylem Dewatering pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner in the shop or at a customer job site. This position is also responsible for recording parts and labor accurately on appropriate Work Orders and Internal Equipment Repair forms and participating in a service call rotation.

Essential Functions:

  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.

  • Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.

  • Repair damaged equipment.

  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment as directed (air dryer, chain saws, lifts, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems.

  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

  • Knowledge of:

  • Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Diagnosing basic mechanical problems

  • General diesel engine repair

  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills

  • General diesel engine component location and identification

  • Safety practices and procedures

  • Basic mechanical aptitude

  • Prolonged standing on concrete floors, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 50 pounds, bending and stooping

A day in the life of a Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift) at Thorne requires the following: * Support the maintenance, operation, and repair of all production related systems and equipment by ensuring: * All preventative maintenance is performed at the appropriate interval and is completed by the assigned due dates. * All equipment remains in its designed and/or validated state at all times. * All equipment is maintained to maximize availability. * Work is completed in accordance with SOPs and equipment manufacturer service guidelines. * Promptly address mechanical breakdown issues, equipment adjustments, and equipment change outs. * Maintain all assigned equipment areas in a constant state of inspection-readiness, including cleanliness, safety, and compliance with cGMP requirements. * Coordinate with contractors performing repairs, modifications, and installations of production equipment. * Work with Production, Engineering, and Quality on new system installations or modifications. * Assist in projects for facility modification, capacity expansion, and efficiency improvements. * Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Thorne facilities and maintenance equipment, and demonstrate initiative to report damage or potential problems with equipment or grounds in a timely manner. * Keep supervisor informed of project status and recognizes the need to ask for help in order to achieve goals. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position Employment is contingent on satisfactory results from a drug screening, background and reference checks, basic skills assessment test, and a physical examination. Qualifications: * Technical degree or certificate is preferred. * 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing maintenance is required. * Previous experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Food manufacturing preferred.
