Job Description:

Summary

This position is responsible for diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing and rebuilding equipment on or off-site. Will maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, and keeping records. Each employee is responsible and accountable for conducting their job tasks in a safe, healthy, and environmentally prudent manner. The mechanic must have their own hand tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include the following: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Maintain transportation fleet in a manner that ensures the safety and protection of employees, clients and general public including the environment.

  • Conducting periodic inspections.

  • Reviewing daily pre and post-trip reports.

  • Correcting identified deficiencies.

  • Scheduling and oversight of major repairs.

  • Completing required documentation.

  • Excellent communication will be required; Open communication with management on status of repairs and/or maintenance.

Maintain shop and field workplace by:

  • Ensuring a clean, safe work environment at all times.

  • Maintaining shop and field maintenance equipment including periodic calibration where required.

  • Identifying and maintaining an inventory of high-use, common maintenance items.

  • Function "on-call" in order to respond to emergency call-outs.

  • Controlling costs of in-house and outsourced maintenance or repairs thru use of warranty and vendor evaluation.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Must possess valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select's insurance guidelines.

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Heavy duty truck mechanic experience.

  • Air brake knowledge.

  • Ability to trouble-shoot electrical, mechanical, diesel engine problems, as well as hydraulic, pump, and vacuum equipment.

  • Experience working on tractor trailers.

  • Basic welding skills.

  • Ability to understand necessary safety procedures and precautions.

  • Intermediate knowledge of computer/lap top.

  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry, preferred.

  • Intermediate knowledge of hand tools/power tools.

  • Ability to travel to off-site locations for repair.

  • Must be able to use battery and charging system test equipment.

  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment and random DOT alcohol and drug screenings, background check, road test, and driving record review.

  • Certificates, Licenses and Registrations.

  • Class A CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements.

Physical Demands

  • Wears personnel protective equipment as required.

  • Requires physical and mental ability to operate water and brine transportation truck and all associated equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous outside and indoor duties including walking standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting kneeling, reaching, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 125 pounds.

  • Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion and grip strength.

Working Conditions

  • Work in extreme hot and cold weather.

  • Will be exposed to loud noise levels.

  • Operate hand/power tools for long periods of time.

  • Work in an environment with dirt, grease and dust.

  • Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment.

  • Ability to hold air impact tools up to 30lbs.

We are currently searching for a Maintenance Manager to be based out of Weatherford, TX. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person's primary focus will be to plan and oversee the work of the maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient operations for the entire facility, as well as being responsible for the entire upkeep and maintenance of the facility including proper working of all electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of similar work experience; or equivalent number of years of education and work experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system based company is a plus. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide supervision and leadership to plant maintenance employees * Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and coordinate or initiate reordering when necessary * Ensure operating/training manuals are up to date and used for training employees * Enter maintenance related data into systems as needed/appropriate * Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities and promote the plant Lean culture * Coordinate and/or perform inspection of building and equipment as required by regulatory agencies. * Oversee maintenance functions with a drive to eliminate repetitive issues by developing personnel and using metrics to help make decisions * Minimize breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes by developing a preventative maintenance and inspection list and schedule * Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure proper functioning of equipment, and safety and environmental compliance * Create Capex Plans for facility and work with Operations and Management on equipment improvements * Be a leader in safety, and enforce company policy in regards to EH&S and Lean Initiatives * Create and adhere to departmental budgets * Lead maintenance transformation from a "break / fix" culture to a reliability-based maintenance culture * Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications * Associates or technical degree and 10 years of maintenance related experience and/or training in the field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor degree in Engineering preferred * Experience in tubing/pipe environment or similar heavy manufacturing environment, along with supervisory experience preferred * Must have strong Mechanical and Electrical skillsets * Ability to read and create electrical schematics and mechanical drawings * Ability to use CAD as well as Microsoft office suite such as excel, word, power point * General PLC programming knowledge * Understanding of basic machine shop tools as well as welding and metal fabrication * Familiar with electric code requirements * Experience with installation of machinery and equipment as well as dis-assembly. * Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations * Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization * Effective leadership skills and problem solving techniques.
