Pay
This position is a non exempt position at pay grade 105.
Attendance
Rotating 40-hour work week, 24-hour shifts, 7 days a week. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
Public Works Technicians II - Channel Maintenace are responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of the stormwater infrastructure and drainage system operations.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, installation, and repair storm water devices such as inlets, manholes, main lines, and service lines
Follow the Traffic control standards as per the Texas MUTCD Work Zone Traffic Control Guide. Direct traffic control at jobsite by flagging, cones, barrel and barricades, setup message boards, water barrier, Type I, II, II Barricade during normal & emergency operations
Install, repair, and maintain storm water mains, inlets, and water manholes
Operate crew truck, mini excavator, backhoe, dump truck, tractor-trailer, truck and trailer combinations, transporting heavy equipment/ machinery, and perform confined space work
Investigate issues reported on the drainage system
Direct and train other employees as needed
All employees will work On-Call Duty rotation schedule and must be able to work different rotation shift under emergency responses
Keep materials stocked in vehicles assignment and communicate when supplies/ materials are low
Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requires High School Diploma/ GED
Minimum of two (2) yearsof experience
Valid Texas Class A Commercial Drivers License Required
Certification in Traffic Control & Flagging (Acquire within 6 months)
Certification in Confine Space (Acquire within 6 months)
Certification in Trenching and Shoring (Acquire within 6 months)
A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
