Performs supervisory work directing all public works labor activities of skilled/unskilled laborers and equipment operators engaged in road maintenance activities in an assigned Palm Beach County (PBC) road maintenance district. Assigns, coordinates, directs and supervises assigned district operation's personnel/equipment.
Directs field operations; assigns work to crews; conducts on-site inspections; processes paperwork/data related to Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer Systems (MS4) and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) reporting; responds to complaints from citizens; completes road maintenance reports; resolves work problems in accordance with established policies and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior and is reviewed through observations, conferences and results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in road construction and maintenance, including one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience. Equivalency: Six (6) years of related experience, including one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Stormwater program operations/related public outreach and education; processing paperwork/data related to MS4/NPDES reporting; using GraniteNet inspection software/MS Office Suite; reading/interpreting construction plans.
Also desirable: National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP)/NASSCO Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP)/NASSCO Lateral Assessment Certification Program (LACP).
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
