Position Description

The purpose of this position is to ensure the City's ability to receive, store and distribute adequate utility services. This is accomplished by managing the operations and maintenance of the water and wastewater utilities of the City.

Other duties include supervising personnel, preparing annual operating budgets, providing administrative and customer support, coordinating activities with regulatory agencies and outside entities and interacting with other City employees and citizens. This position provides direction to other employees.

Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave

The city offers vacation and sick leave, as well as ten paid holidays. Full time employees earn two weeks of vacation during their first year of employment and 10 hours of sick leave a month.

What We're Looking For

Utility Superintendent

  • Six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Five years experience in potable water distribution and sanitary sewer systems.

    Supervisory experience of water distribution/sanitary sewer employees. Must have knowledge of Federal and State water and sanitary sewer regulations. An associate's degree may be substituted for two years of experience.

    A bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years of experience. Class C Water or Wastewater Operator License issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Preferred to have licenses in both Water and Wastewater, but not required.

Typical Schedule: Monday

  • Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm
