The Town of Chapel Hill Public Works Department is seeking a graduate-level student or recent graduate to assist department administration with analysis, research, and special projects for the Public Works Department. This opportunity would be ideal for a graduate-level student or recent graduate interested in local government management. This professional work experience position will work closely with a team including two analysts and the department's operations manager.
We are looking for someone for at least 12-15 hours a week and available to begin working with us as soon as possible. The number of hours per week and schedule is flexible depending on the individual's needs and the needs of the department.
Essential Functions: Some of the projects will include:
Provide analysis and support for the department's annual budget process
Lead performance management project, including improving data tracking and developing regular reporting systems
Provide analysis and support to the department's succession planning
Other special projects and shadowing opportunities depending upon the individual's interest
Seeking a student or recent graduate with a background in Public Administration, Business Management, Information Sciences, or a related field, with an interest in the following areas:

Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program from an accredited college or university
Be highly organized with attention to detail
