This position will work under the general supervision of a Program and Project Supervisor.

The Electrical Safety Policy Division is seeking a Senior Wildfire Safety Policy Advisor to develop cutting edge policy and oversee implementation of efforts to reduce utility-ignited wildfires.

The Senior Wildfire Safety Policy Advisor will serve as an advisor to the Wildfire Safety Advisory Board (WSAB or The Board), performing a variety of tasks related to utility wildfire safety. This advisor will support the Board, working directly with Electrical Safety Policy Division management, the Board Chair, Board Vice Chair, and Board Members.

The Electrical Safety Policy Division is responsible for driving utilities to be smarter and more efficient in their wildfire mitigation efforts, including increasing the safety and reliability of electrical infrastructure.

Energy Safety values strong analytical and communication skills and seeks individuals who perform well in team environments.

PURA IV will also be considered for recruitment purposes.

Department Information

The mission of the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) is to advance long-term utility infrastructure safety through data-driven, wildfire mitigation evaluation and compliance, excavation standards and education, in collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, and in support of improved utility infrastructure, safety culture, and innovation.

3.Related to wildfire safety, electrical infrastructure, risk reduction, and regulation of utilities.

4.Leading public meetings/workshops, working with an appointed Board, and acting as a communication liaison between various stakeholders.
