Under general direction of the Project and Program Supervisor, the analyst will support the Electric Market Design Section in the development of work products that are used to advise and assist high-level decision-makers such as Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management. The analyst will work on energy market and reliability projects, which may include resource adequacy compliance and oversight of utility energy procurement activities.

The analyst will make recommendations based on independent analysis of regulatory, policy and technical issues. The analyst will develop analysis for and make recommendations regarding the CPUC's policy-setting rulemakings via a wide range of work products, review and provide feedback on proposed legislative bills, and/or work with a team that oversees implementation of programs that result from these CPUC and legislative processes.

The analyst will perform other work as necessary, such as writing and presenting reports, coordinating with other California organizations and agencies (e.g., the California Energy Commission, the California Air Resources Board, California Independent System Operator), and responding to outside inquiries.

This position is eligible for telework 5 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required.

  • Describe your written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting and writing white papers, reports, and memos. Please provide examples.
