Job Summary
If you are passionate about protecting and serving the citizens of Kansas, we would love for you to join our team. The Kansas Department of Insurance is seeking a dedicated individual for a Public Service Administrator position in our Compliance, Enforcement and Anti-Fraud Division. This position will be responsible for reviewing incoming Securities complaints and allegations of fraud, to include suspected financial exploitation of vulnerable adults. Responsibilities include collecting evidence, statements, and background information. The incumbent will also be assisting with the development of investigative strategies.
This position will also be responsible for supporting the department's insurance fraud investigative charge. Antifraud responsibilities include case management system entries and maintenance, development of monthly case activity reports and oversite of file storage and retention.
The Team
The team members in Compliance, Enforcement and Anti-Fraud are collaborative and hardworking and have the optimal goal to protect consumers against insurance and securities fraud in the State of Kansas. The team collaborates to make the best decisions possible for the Kansas Department of Insurance and Kansas consumers.
Key Responsibilities (not all inclusive)
Review incoming Securities complaints and allegations of fraud, to include suspected financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult; evaluates and analyzes the information to determinethe accuracy and validity of the information;
Work with stakeholders to identify missing information, corresponds with those stakeholders and assists in developing investigative strategies;
Makes recommendation to the director or chief agent to assign a case when it appears a case involves a violation of the Kansas Uniform Securities Act. Provides analysis of information through written reports, illustrations, and face to face interaction with special agents during investigations;
Maintain department databases to log, monitor and track the number and types of fraud referrals and attach documents and correspondence related to the referrals;
Generates monthly reports summarizing activity of fraud referrals;
Maintains filing systems and monitors file retention periods.

Qualifications
Required:
Two years of experience in office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the Commissioner of Insurance.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of common computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, database and e-mail applications.
Superior writing and communication skills with the ability to communicate well with individuals from various backgrounds.
Ability to work with a team and independently.
Ability to extract data and formulate reasonable conclusions from a variety of sources.
Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining methods of procedures used to make minor decisions.
Ability to proofread and edit for grammar, spelling, syntax and style; compute, verify and compare figures; detect discrepancies in information or records.
Additional Requirements:
