The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Account Manager to join our growing and successful SLED team. In this role you will focus on increasing market share in for Proofpoint products primarily in the Public Sector market segment, with some accounts in education as well. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering web based and onsite product demos. As a Public Sector Account Manager you will be converting prospects into sales by differentiating Proofpoint from the competition.

Your day-to-day

  • Proactively and aggressively target University, Junior College and local government accounts in your assigned territory

  • Identify and pursue prospect accounts through a mix of cold calling, government bid lists and teaming up with our Channel Partners to build pipeline and drive revenue targets

  • Work with System Engineers to prepare account strategies and plans, as well as to execute product demonstrations and Proof of Concept (POC) engagements

  • Prepare activity and forecast reports as requested

  • Prepare and execute a thorough business plan

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint's competitive positioning in the marketplace

  • Meet or exceed revenue quota

  • May require modified schedule (work hours) to align with the target market

  • May require travel within the target market

  • May require modified hours to cover other time zones in assigned territory

What you bring to the team

  • 4+ Years of sales experience selling complex software solutions

  • Experience selling security/IT solutions and/or SLED (State, Local, Education) sales strongly preferred

  • Proven track record of sustained success/over-achievement in a sales role

  • Technical aptitude and strong work ethic

  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly

  • Positive attitude and presentation skills

  • Competitive nature

  • Strong sales acumen, preferably with an established sales methodology such as SPIN, Challenger, Miller Heiman, or similar method

  • Up to 30% Travel

The successful Channel Account Manager (CAM) is a tenacious prospector and a meticulous record-keeper that exhibits excellent follow through with every opportunity and each partner. An effective communicator, the CAM works tirelessly to provide stellar service to partners and prospects. The CAM helps partners to identify opportunities and build their pipelines, provides necessary presales support and ultimately drives increased revenue production. The CAM supports, nurtures and maximizes productivity of current partners in an assigned geographical territory and also prospects, recruits and enables new VAR and MSP partners. The CAM's primary focus is on building consistent revenue through these partners. The CAM works as a part of a district/territory team that includes a field Channel Account Manager, a Sales Engineer and possibly other CAMs. The successful CAM is a team-player who elevates the productivity of every member of that district/territory team. The primary success metric is the attainment of assigned monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets. Other measures of performance include completion of inbound and outbound phone calls and emails, webinars, lead conversions and others that may change from time-to-time based on then current management priorities. Duties: * Consistently achieves established revenue targets * Enthusiastically answers inbound calls and places outbound calls to service existing and acquire new partners and end-user customers * Energetically prospects, qualifies, nurtures and closes opportunities through channel partners * Promptly responds to questions and concerns from partners, prospects and leads * Ensures that appropriate partner contacts have received technical enablement training * Educates partners on the many ways they can make money with StorageCraft * Works to ensure that partners are properly on-boarded and prepared to work efficiently with StorageCraft Sales, Support and other departments * Helps partners identify and advance opportunities through the sales cycle * Tracks sales opportunities, leads, deal registrations, quotes, etc. and follows through to ensure excellent service and help drive partner revenue * Works constantly with and provides appropriate support for the field Channel Account Manager and Sales Engineer to maximize district/territory efficiency and performance * Manages accounts as agreed upon and in coordination with field Channel Account Manager * Meticulously records all partner, prospect and lead interaction in CRM * Engenders partner loyalty through unparalleled service and integrity Qualifications: * Documented post-high school education in the form of an associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or technical certification * Channel sales experience in backup, disaster recovery, storage or security software preferred * Strong written, verbal and presentation skills * Energy, drive and determination to work for and to be the best * High character and work-ethic proven in previous performance Success Metrics: * Annual quota attainment * Quarter-over-quarter revenue growth in designated region * Revenue from new partner recruitment EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disability Storagecraft Draper UT
