Civil Service Exam

Applicants meeting the minimum requirements will be invited to complete the written questionnaire. Applicants receiving a passing score on the written questionnaire will then be invited to Oral Boards (interview process).

Oral Boards are tentatively scheduled for August 15th and 16th, 2024 (dates are tentative and subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances).

Job Summary

Under general direction of the Assistant Chief

• Logistics supports the overall mission of Westcom 911 Emergency Communications Center by providing logistical and technical support of major systems including 911, radio, and IT.

This position will be the technical go-to for all technical needs within Westcom logistics.

Job Description

Public Safety Technical Support Specialist

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• One (1) year specialist or technical training beyond high school in Electronics, IT Systems, or Telecommunications plus five (5) years of related work experience required (Electronics Technician, Communications Technician, Radio Installation Technician, System Technologist, System Manager, or Field Service Experience with one or more of the following: LMR, RF systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, or Networking equipment) or related field required.

• Associate's degree in Electronics, IT Systems, or Telecommunications preferred.
