The newly re-defined Miami Beach Convention Center, often described as a "Center of Creative Collaboration," will continue as a "Gateway to the Americas" by accommodating and attracting national and international events and conventions. The Center hosts national and international trade such as Art Basel Miami Beach and eMerge Americas. The renovated building, complete in 2018, feature nearly 500,000 feet of exhibit space, a brand new 60,000 square foot ballroom, and 81 meeting rooms comprising 190,000 square feet. This position ensures that all security personnel on the assigned shift are performing their assigned job duties. Additional duties include patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labor while on premises. This position secures property during the move in/out of trade shows, conventions or events, and performs the following duties personally or through subordinates:

Responsibilities

  • Conducts shifts briefings with staff providing necessary information.

  • Reviews department checklists, and accounts for all equipment.

  • Coordinate building security with the various show promoters, exhibitors and sub-contractors working events at the facility.

  • Liaison with the Miami Beach Police Department.

  • Assists in overseeing the security of all self parking lots and staffing of parking lot attendants during scheduled events.

  • Control all building keys issued, the installation of all building locks and all key work for the facility.

  • Maintain all building access including patron entry, show promoters and exhibitor move-in/move-out and employee entry.

  • Maintain all security equipment under control and report any irregularities or shortages.

  • Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.

  • Secures the safety of all individuals and property on the premises.

  • Appropriately deals with "unruly "people.

  • Works with local Fire and Police departments to secure the facility.

  • Communicate issues or concerns to the Public Safety Manager and Public Safety Director as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervise employees in the Public Safety Department, as a first line supervisor. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Spectra's policies and applicable statutory laws; as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of in the security field required.

  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in security field required.

In addition, the Payroll & Account Payables Manager is responsible for managing the venue's accounts payable process and function in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position is based at our Miami Beach Convention Center. You can learn more about our venue here: http://www.miamibeachconvention.com/ Responsibilities Payroll * Manage all payroll functions and related activities for a bi-weekly payroll of approximately 300 employees. * Develop uniform and consistent payroll policies, practices and procedures. * Recommend improvements and modifications as needed. * Maintain current knowledge of, and compliance with, all applicable state, federal and local wage laws and regulations * Process the bi-weekly payroll using ADP Enterprise Software and ADP Time and Attendance version 8. * Process/input all employee data changes such as address changes, W-4's, direct deposits and other applicable changes using ADP Enterprise Software. * Process the bi-weekly labor union reports and payments after payroll is completed. * Interface with Corporate Payroll to resolve problems and address operational issues as they arise. * Interact and coordinate with internal departments (Human Resources, Finance, Events and others, as applicable) to align payroll policies and procedures. * Replies to unemployment claims, employment verification requests and any other request for employee payroll information. * Process stagehand payroll allocations on a bi-weekly basis. * Prepares payroll adjustments. * Prepares manual checks as necessary and posts them to the SAGE Accounting System. * Process W-2's at year-end using ADP Enterprise Software. Account Payables * Responsible for the full cycle AP process. * Maintain all Accounts Payable files in accordance with Corporate Policy. * Input all invoices into SAGE Accounting System. * Manage all vendor payments and expense reimbursements. * Performs payable check run once invoices have been approved with corresponding back up on a weekly basis; prepares checks for signature; mail checks to vendors. * Code and input manual checks. * Process stop payments on checks. * File all paperwork related to payables. * Process petty cash reimbursements. * Maintain petty cash book. * Process monthly sales tax payment. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitor FedEx and postage usage. * Communicate with labor union regarding a variety of issues regarding payroll. * Act as back up for human resources administrative issues and/or inquiries from employees. * Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications * 3+ years' experience in a fast past payroll environment. * 3 – 5 years' experience in ADP Enterprise Payroll processing. * Knowledge of ADP Time and Attendance. * 3+ years of account payables experience. * Knowledge of SAGE Accounting Software or similar accounting software required.
