Essential Duties & Responsibilities

(1) Enforce city, state and federal laws, roadway violations and University rules and regulations.

(2) Patrol assigned areas by foot, bike or motor vehicle and maintain an individual activity log. Ensure that buildings and gates are locked and unlocked at appropriate times.

(3) Apprehension and arrest of prisoners.

(4) Take incident and accident reports. Investigate incidents and collect evidence.

(5) Inspect buildings and vehicles, report all safety and security problems and complete facility repair forms when necessary.

(6) Render assistance to persons as circumstances necessitate. Perform motorist assist, such as lockouts and jump starts, when requested.

(7) Traffic control during accidents and special events.

(8) Perform security function and crowd control at special events.

(9) Perform Officer in Charge responsibilities when assigned.

(10) Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma, MCOLES certification

One year of experience, patrol services

Preferred Requirements

MCOLES certifiable.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, jump, climb steps, complete physical safety and defensive tactics training.

Work Environment

Ability to work in all various working conditions both interior environment and exterior environment. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid Michigan Driver's License in good standing

Salary/Pay Information

$23.03 per hour
