The PR Specialist is responsible for owning coordination of key business initiatives, campaigns, and launches related to Torrid's PR program. Reports to the Head of PR and works directly with Torrid's outside PR agency and Torrid cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain strong industry relationships with Agency, media, stylists and other influencers

  • Manage and assist Agency on project deliverables. Provide product information as well as coordinating campaigns. Handle media requests for samples and product images

  • Owns the PR calendar and coordinate with Brand Marketing on master Editorial Calendar

  • Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with different teams

  • Demonstrates understanding of business, market, and competitive situation

  • Execute action plans to support announcements and initiatives; display good judgment when making decisions

  • Understands and follows major industry and social trends; savvy about events driving news cycles and demonstrate the ability to proactively exploit them on behalf of the business

  • Effectively coordinate and work both up and down within teams

  • Contribute to new business stories through research, brainstorming and program creation; effectively presents at business meetings and pitches as appropriate

  • Budget tracking

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of public relations, marketing and/or communications experience

  • Experience with retail and understanding of the retail landscape in market space

  • Solid relationships with the press, and a proven track record of great coverage

  • Ability to multi-task and manage projects from start to finish

  • Strong communication skills, including solid writing ability and persuasive speaking skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills

  • Enthusiastic contributor who can come up with great ideas

Responsibilities/Duties * Assist the collection of incremental funds in support of the sales teams with pre- and post-sales activities, including deal registration, for the products of the assigned brand. * Review sales teams' pipeline information to optimize sales opportunities and track updates by alerting sales teams of product related updates and manufacturer programs that can either reduce the cost or obtain incremental funding/rebates. * Train the sales teams to use deal registration and sell products of the assigned brand using a combination of programs, including, but not limited to, lunch and learn, new hire training, and new product training. * Increase sales team productivity, deal size, and awareness of all lines of business for the assigned brand by promoting all of the available resources and tools such as training to support closing sales for assigned brands. * Act as first point of escalation for the sales teams regarding any sales issues such as large order returns, related to the assigned brand with the intent to minimize returns where possible by identifying other options for the customer. * Participate in conference calls with Account Executives and their customers to answer questions, recommend solutions, and assist with closing sales on the products and service of the assigned brand. Brand Champion will also be technical subject matter expert for assigned products. * Provide feedback and guidance to the sales teams around execution of the sales programs and incentives by the assigned brand. * Update and track backend funding status and coordinate with Product Management and Marketing teams to optimize incremental funding opportunities. * Coordinate quarterly business review and monthly conference calls. * Prepare weekly reporting on the sales of the assigned brand. * Attend training organized by the vendor of the assigned brand. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes * High School Diploma or GED required. * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or 4 years equivalent experience in lieu of bachelors preferred. * Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in IT products, preferably with commercial accounts. * Performance driven with strong ability in market/industry data analysis and ability to use data in decision making prioritization and quantitative analysis. * Experience researching and identifying opportunities for further mid-term to long-term brand business development. * Experience conducting business and financial analyses, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting. * Ability to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to plan and prioritize, problem solve, and scope technical requirements.
