Professional work coordinating public relations activities, public information releases, and developing and implementing the Department's public awareness and outreach programs. Coordinates, plans, prepares and implements public information and educational/outreach initiatives to maximize participation in (HIV) care and treatment programs, including employee communications, community outreach, outreach material, mainstream and social media relations and public information in support of the strategic objectives for the HIV Elimination Services Division within the Community Services Department. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in public affairs or public relations work including publication writing. Equivalencies: Unrelated Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience; related Associate's Degree and three (3) years of related experience; unrelated Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience; graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and five (5) years of related experience.
PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE: Designing publications and/or newsletters; updating and posting to professional social media sites (must specify on application). Also desirable: Bilingual English/Spanish/Creole); experience working in a health-related setting.
