Job Description: Assists project manager to conduct effective marketing programs in support of project objectives.

Assists in the coordination of marketing activities with Government agency personnel and contractor employees. Develops and administers survey instruments to gather market data. Engages in promoting or creating an intended public image for the program.

May write or select material for release to various communications media Directs the activities of other marketing/public relations specialists. Serves as functional experts in their fields and coordinates activities of marketing/public relations specialists. Researches market conditions in local, regional, or national areas, or gathers information.

Provides data analysis and recommendations. Drafts replies to media inquiries for approval by responsible Government/contractor authority.

This position is not currently funded/active. Should Serco be awarded the contract, and you meet the qualifications of the position, you will be considered in the selection process.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's in journalism or similar field plus 7 years' experience writing for a variety of audiences including K-12, lifelong learners, general public as well as in the development of information of highly visible national events with a variety of stakeholders in plain language utilizing Associated Press Stylebook conventions, with knowledge of 508 compliance and editing at a similar level.

  • Experience in Content/Web Development and the use of protocols and business processes in the development of web-based program content.

  • Demonstrated experience understanding the military community, travel and tourism, military protocol, ceremonies and special events, and historical sites as well as designing content for a variety of audiences to include military leaders, cemetery industry, ceremonies and special events, tourism industry, media relations, safety and security, service members and their families.

  • Knowledge of web content management systems (CMS)and familiarity with Dot Net Nuke-based CMS is a plus

  • Certified in Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) National Incident Management System (NIMS)(18 hour on-line course).
