Description Who We Are SourceAmerica is searching for a Public Relations Manager to join its team, focused on public relations programs and oversee the day-to-day workflow and execution of public relations tasks related to various projects within the marketing communications department. This position helps connect our network of over 575 Non-Profit agencies with federal procurement opportunities across the United States Our network of Non-Profit Agencies (NPAs) perform service and product contracts mainly for Federal agencies and help employ over 33,000 people with disabilities nationally. The ideal candidate will be based near SourceAmerica’s National Office in Vienna, VA (greater-Washington, DC metro area) What You Will Do As a Public Relations Manager, your work functions will include but are not limited to the following. A full position description will be given to candidates at the time of the interview. Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing Communications, other business units, and within SourceAmerica’s nonprofit network to identify opportunities and develop strategies and tactics that increase awareness and understanding of SourceAmerica, its nonprofit network, and the AbilityOne Program. Find and develop stories for distribution on SourceAmerica’s website, social media and in traditional media that reflect positively on SourceAmerica, its nonprofit network, and the AbilityOne Program. Identify opportunities to generate favorable media coverage and actively formulate and recommend appropriate public relations strategies and tactics into integrated marketing communication campaign plans as assigned. Other responsibilities will be assigned as organizational needs arise. Salary Range The salary for this position falls in a range between $90,000 - $110,000 depending on your experience and geographic location in the United States. What You Must Have Associate's degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution instead of applicable skills training. SourceAmerica recognizes 1.5 years of experience 1 year of college, should the candidate not meet the educational requirement. 5 years of relevant work experience in communications or public relations. Ability to conceive, draft, proofread and edit materials quickly, including demonstrated ability to understand and communicate about complex, technical or sensitive subjects in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. Good judgment and decision-making skills for managing projects day-to-day. Able to manage multiple, concurrent projects simultaneously. Ability to combine and balance strategic thinking with tactical functions. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution. 7 years of relevant work experience. Experience working with project management systems and workflow tools to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner Strong writing, communications, presentation, digital and interpersonal skills. Keen interest in the convergence of news, digital media, and public affairs. Demonstrated experience pitching stories to media and influencers and securing favorable coverage Demonstrated experience as part of a crisis communications response team. Experience managing multiple projects and working in cross-functional teams. We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) as our primary business application system for much of our office processes— experience with D365 or using similar methods is preferred. Work Environment Our organization offers both a hybrid work model—where employees work in our office two to three days per week and work from home the balance of the workweek—as well as a fully remote work model, depending on the job requirements.
