Responsibilities

What you'll do...

The Public Relations Manager has responsibility for managing Iron Mountain's public relations efforts for its priority solution offerings, and reports to the director of Corporate Communications. This person will help develop and execute an integrated public relations plan based on Iron Mountain's business objectives and marketing strategy for those businesses. The role requires cross-company collaboration, strategic planning, leadership and practical execution to drive impactful results. The Public Relations manager will also support key marketing activities in Developed Markets (North America, Western Europe), and will be a key collaborator with Iron Mountain's external PR agency. Candidate should be able to clearly articulate Corporate Communications objectives and priorities, drive results across the business and represent the overall PR engagement strategy with both peers and senior leaders.

Successfully drive and execute Public Relations programs to increase awareness of, and preference for Iron Mountain's priority solutions offerings.

  • Assist in the development and execution of long and short-term PR plans in support of solution launches, business objectives, and other activities.

  • Set measurable program goals; measure and report on progress.

  • Develop and refine media -oriented messaging for solution offerings

  • Develop press opportunities for spokespeople to engage directly with target media and influencers including (but not limited to): press briefings, social media interactions, industry events, etc.

  • Develop and maintain business line-related media assets (i.e. backgrounders, executive bios, Q&As, talking points, etc.)

  • Create and/or edit press releases, bylined articles, customer stories, white papers and other communications assets as necessary.

  • Where available, support the acquisition and utilization of customer reference opportunities for press releases, media relations, etc.

  • Support creation and programming of social content in support of key news and content-driven programs for business lines.

Qualifications

What you'll need...

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed corporate environment. Understanding of the nuances in working for a large, global public company.

  • This position requires a deep understanding of PR fundamentals, with the ability to advise management confidently and help manage external PR agency.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills (press releases, viewpoint articles, research reports)

  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal skills.

  • Strong planning, management and organizational skills.

  • Must be a strong cross-functional team player and possess a proven ability to work autonomously.

  • Must have working knowledge of common office productivity applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Experience of working in an international environment a plus.

  • Experience with common PR and research tools a plus.

  • Experience in planning and driving social media campaigns a plus.

  • Demonstrate solid judgment.

  • Ability to be the strategic "voice in the room" for

  • Ability to communicate candidly and provide constructive criticism tactfully. Ability to build Strong internal and external relationships.

  • Strong team player.

  • 4-7 years PR experince in Global Corporate Organization preferred
