Summary:

We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins and outs of our daily routines and procedures while utilizing gained educational knowledge and experience.

Essential Functions:

• Support the Brand Communications team in implementing the company's PR strategy with a focus on Social Responsibility, DEI and Internal Communications programs
• Create engaging content for internal and external audiences for the corporate LinkedIn page, and Intranet
• Assist in drafting media materials, including press releases, media alerts, and story pitches
• Participate in planning meetings, give input on communication initiatives and suggest ways to enhance the company's public image
• Conduct research for public relations initiatives and identify visibility opportunities for various campaigns
• Monitor media coverage and create press clippings and reports

Social Responsibility:

• Research PR opportunities for corporate giving programs
• Patriciate in PR outreach for corporate volunteer events

DEI:

• Review and test DEI training courses
• Assist in development of company-wide DEI Newsletter

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good research and analytical skills
• Knowledge of copywriting and editing
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be detail oriented
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
• Must have the ability to collaborate with a team and contribute to insights

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to look at computer monitors for 8 hours a day
• Must have the ability to use hands and fingers. Using them to type, manage copiers and/or printers.
• Must be able to exert up to at least 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Work Environment:

This job is done in a traditional office environment. There will be extended periods of sitting.
