Ingersoll Rand isseeking a PR / External Communications Manager to join the

Corporate Communications team. Reporting to the external communications andreputation leader, the manager will help build and protect the company'sreputation through external communications programs, including executivevisibility and speaking engagements; thought leadership; media relations;corporate reputation awards/rankings; social media; community relations andphilanthropy; issues management and crisis communications; and corporatereputation event management. The responsibilities are relevant to ourbusinesses, create excitement and build equity among Ingersoll Rand'sstakeholders, including customers, employees, shareholders, communities,nonprofit organizations and media. Will closely coordinate with sectors andregions, marketing, legal, the Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability,HR and employee communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications Plans,Materials and Opportunity Development

  • Develop and execute external communications plans thatdemonstrates a link between desired business outcomes and communicationsactivities

  • Create targeted media lists, get to know traditional and new mediareporters and their story needs, and develop and execute pitches that securepositive media coverage

  • Identify and secure speaking engagements for enterprise,functional and SBU leaders

  • Create PowerPoint presentations, speeches, bylined articles, factsheets, background documents and Q&A for executive visibility and thought leadership

  • Prepare leaders for media, speaking and thought leadershipopportunities; facilitate media interviews and follow-ups

  • Build effective relationships and deep understanding of businessneeds to identify relevant, compelling and engaging content across theorganization and maximize appropriate use of content across all communicationschannels

  • Develop corporate reputation awards program

  • Develop messages and stories to promote our philanthropy,sustainability, workforce, technology and other key enterprise themes.

  • Monitor the news and use software to analyze trends and collectmedia coverage for Ingersoll Rand and select competitors; analyze coverage andcreate quarterly dashboard report to present findings

SKILLS

  • Must possess strong project management, problemsolving, listening and written and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to work well with diverse groups, be a team player,possess analytical and "client service" skills, be an innovative thinker, and aself-starter

  • Must excel and thrive in fast-paced environments; globalexperience a plus

  • Will have the ability to manage project timelines and determinework flow effectively and appropriately; computer proficiency in Word,PowerPoint and Excel required

EDUCATION &EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in communications,business management or marketing. MBA is a plus

  • 5-8 years directly related experience (i.e. public relations,corporate philanthropy, financial communications), preferably for a Fortune 500company with diverse product categories and customer segments

  • High technical proficiency

Job Summary: Investor Relations is responsible for cultivating relationships with the investment community, educating and updating investors about the company and providing feedback on how the market views the company. The Analyst of Investor Relations is responsible for jointly carrying out all investor relations strategies, policies and programs which maximize company valuation working side-by-side with the VP and the Director of Investor Relations. This position drives the internal and external communications plan surrounding investor relations and all financial communications. Furthermore, the Analyst serves as a secondary liaison for daily inquiries from investors and targets and develops and maintains buy-side and sell-side relationships. Responsibilities: The Analyst, Investor Relations is responsible for: * Execution of short and long-term strategies to attract and inform investors and analysts in a manner that communicates the company's strategy, as well as operational and financial performance, while establishing realistic expectations for future performance. * Advancing and driving strategic targeting program to identify and attract potential long-term investors who have investment objectives that match well with the company's financial characteristics and long term objectives * Working with senior and executive management to develop strategic communications delivered to the investment community (including road shows, conferences and small group/one-on-one meetings) and prepares management for these events. Responsible for the preparation of all documents and supporting information. * Responsible for helping to develop content and for the preparation of all documents for quarterly earnings calls, including slide deck, script, Q&A and preparation with management. Working with business units, Finance, Communications and accounting, Legal counterparts, etc., and to coordinate release of materials. * Assisting in driving the IR team's response to daily inquiries from the investment community, in compliance with company Disclosure policies and applicable SEC rules and regulations. * Developing and maintaining a system for staying appraised of and analyzing market opinions, attitudes as well as reactions to company issues, industry trends and competitive performance and for providing both executive level summaries and detailed reports as needed. Making recommendations based on observations. Preparing management updates on financial market intelligence and significant issues and trends. Closely monitoring all available information including sell side reporting, competitive earnings calls and other relevant industry information. * Assist in working with other departments and external vendors to develop and produce any financial communications, such as materials for investor conferences, analyst days, earnings releases, other press releases and the annual report. "Own" the delivery of these materials in final form. * Assist with the management of external relationships such as the NYSE, designated market makers, stock surveillance and other firms. Being the secondary point of contact for surveillance and producing weekly reports highlighting important shareholder and trading trends. Qualifications: * 2-5 years of experience in positions with increasing responsibility. * Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred. * Demonstrates interest and aptitude in learning and understanding investor relations and the capital markets. * Demonstrated history of relationship building which will be crucial to building relationships with investors and analysts. * Strong financial acumen with knowledge of financial statements and analytical methods. * Self-starter; ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and to develop a thorough understanding of market/trading dynamics. * Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the most current SEC and fiduciary disclosure requirements. * Strategic agility to be able to best position the company to the investment community.
