Public Relations & Communications Manager

  • Serves as a liaison between the Nation and the public.
  • · Develops and maintains a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication.
  • · Writes, reviews, and/or distributes press releases and other public-facing communication.
  • · Responds to information requests from media contacts.
  • · Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government employees, and public interest groups.
  • · Arranges interviews for company's executives and management.
  • · Evaluates advertising campaigns to ensure consistency with the organization's public relations strategy.
  • · Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image.
  • · Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
  • · Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
  • · Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
  • · Promotes and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; new products or services; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements.
  • · Arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
  • · Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.
  • · Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • · Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies.
  • · Excellent public speaking skills.
  • · Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications.
  • · Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with an ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets.
  • · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • · Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • · Proficient with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.

Hours per week:

  • Full time: 40 + hours per week

Job Type:

  • Full time

Salary:

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Hours of operation:

  • 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM Monday - Friday

  • Other times as needed dependent upon events, press release deadlines etc.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, concentration in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science or similar.

Experience:

  • Writing skills: 3 years (Required)
  • Public Relations: 3 years (Required)
  • Marketing: 1 year (Required)
  • Social media marketing: 2 years (Required)
