SUMMARY:

Based in San Luis Obispo the Public Relations Coordinator will help support and sustain the global press and social media strategy for MINDBODY and its subsequent companies and brands. Will be responsible for supporting the Public Relations team in making use of multiple earned media channels including broadcast, print and online to amplify brand awareness across consumer, business, tech and trade media. Will support the media relations and social media teams with various external communications as well as internal efforts including planning, tracking and reporting.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with PR team, create, support and execute cohesive media outreach strategies that enhance the brand awareness of MINDBODY.

  • Draft and/or copy edit press releases, pitches, media briefings, award nominations and media newsletters.

  • Manage and maintain targeted media outreach lists.

  • Utilize established media database and reporting software to monitor and track media coverage.

  • Assist department with a wide variety of marketing projects, to possibly include contract submissions, brainstorming, and event support.

  • Support social media efforts as needed including creating and scheduling content, organizing user generated content and influencer engagement.

  • Work closely with several functions of the marketing department (social media, SEO, content, etc.) to support the goals of the department and the company.

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree required as well as one or more year(s) of strategic media outreach experience.

  • Outstanding communications skills, written and verbal.

  • Effective time-management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail and feedback oriented with superior project management and organizational capabilities.

  • Experience with Cision/Vocus and wire distribution a plus.

  • Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a diverse group. Must be comfortable spearheading and managing projects autonomously.

  • Personal drive and passion for the industry.

  • Creative thinker and problem solver.

  • Social media experience a plus.
