Manages the 2nd Street Market engaged in the retail selling of farm-raised produce, other food items, prepared foods, artisan wares, and other items typical of a public market. Establishes a mutually conducive business environment for vendors and customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establishes a selling environment that is mutually conducive to vendors and customers and their transactions in buying and selling produce, prepared foods for on-site consumption, and other items. Recruits new vendors and directs application process for approval. Executes lease agreements with vendors. Assists vendors in implementing their business plans.

  • Addresses vendor and customer concerns.

  • Supervises Market Coordinator(s) and Custodial Technician(s) in performance of job responsibilities

  • Prepares and manages the market's approved annual budget including vendor fees, revenue collection, and expenditures.

  • Develops, implements and enforces MetroParks policies, procedures, and rules relevant to 2nd Street Market operations.

  • Coordinates with the Marketing Department to develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics for the Market.

  • Develops and implements an approved strategic plan for the Market.

  • Ensures the maintenance and repair of the Market's building and grounds.

  • Maintains records and prepare various reports including vender reports, revenue records, cost of service analysis, prepares work plans, and other reports and records.

  • Coordinates with the County Health Department to ensure Market and vendor compliance with applicable County health regulations.

  • Maintains confidentiality of confidential or sensitive records and information.

  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.

  • Provides service to the public, responding to questions, offering assistance, and providing information.

  • Collaborates internally, within and across departmental boundaries, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.

  • Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the MetroParks' policies and applicable laws, and delegated authority. Responsibilities include participating in, and making recommendations pertaining to the selection, discipline of employees, and other personnel decisions. Plans and delegates work assignments, trains employees, provides guidance resolves work issues, and ensures work complies with policy and performance standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A combination of appropriate education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or closely related field, and five to seven years' experience in retail management and/or marketing/promotions/program development.

  • Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.

VIEW JOBS 12/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-12T00:00 Job Description As the Heavy Construction After Market Manager for the Heavy Construction segment in N.A, you will create product/solutions training material as well as manuals, quick guides etc that will be used for dealers and in some cases even end users in the region, a collaboration will take place between the Leica Machine Control BU in Denmark to make sure that all efforts can be replicated and used in other markets if applicable. Products/solutions include but are not limited to machine control systems, GPS survey systems, total stations, construction lasers, and data preparation software and/or CAD software. In addition to these duties there can be other projects added to the role, such as training site developments for the region to be able to train dealers/end users as well as have a site that can be sued for product development together with the Leica Machine Control BU. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will have the following key responsibilities; however, the business reserves the right to add other reasonable duties within the scope of the role. Create product and application training, both in field and classroom settings, for dealers, sales representatives, and end users for ICON MC Construction products. Provide training primarily in N.A, and potentially in Mexico as required. Develop training agenda and materials for training classes. Supporting and managing the knowledge Base Centre locally in N.A, from a Heavy Construction perspective of the Leica Geosystems business. Create simplified quick guides, for the dealers, sales representatives, and end users for ICON MC Construction products. Work with the BU to develop the online university for Heavy Construction, with the focus on the N.A market Work together with the rest of the Heavy Construction organization to get input to the creation of above-mentioned material so it will fit the need. Work to get feedback from the market to get valid input to the creation of above-mentioned material so it will fit the need. Collaborate with the N.A marketing team to finalize the above-mentioned developed material. Develop user manuals and installation manuals for ICON MC Construction products. Provide input to TSS Manager on a regular basis with respect to product performance, product testing, market analysis, competitor activities and product/marketing needs and requirements. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: * Knowledge of machine control systems used in construction, including systems based on laser, sonic, total station, and GPS. * Knowledge of surveying equipment, including GPS and total stations. * Knowledge of CAD-based design programs used to create three-dimensional models. * Strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. * Must operate heavy machinery and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Experience in creating training material for the MC market EDUCATION: * Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in civil engineering, surveying, construction management, or a related discipline is required, plus two years' experience in the use and support of machine control and/or surveying equipment is required. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: * 60% or more, international and domestic, is associated with this job.
