The position serves as an advisor for developers to determine which type of certificate meets the requirements for their system and provides guidance to customers with complete problems encountered using PKI protected Systems. Job Responsibilities
35% 1. Under administrative direction, serves as a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Analyst for the
Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT):
Performs complex professional and advisory functions relative to problems encountered
with the PKI protected systems.
Performs complex analysis of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate requirements for
DoIT, client network systems and web-based applications.
Serves as an advisor for developers to determine which type of certificate meets the
requirements for their system.
Assists developers in preparing their Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
Upon receipt of the CSR works with certificate provider to verify the validity and
availability of the domain name.
Enters data in certificate request system which will issue the certificate.
Provides guidance to developers in downloading the certificate and advises them on
loading it on to their server(s).
Maintains certificate log and advises clients on pending expiration of their certificate.
Contacts client management to guide them through the process for re-establishing their
certificate if the original registered owner of the certificate is often no longer available.

25% 2. Provides guidance to customers with complex problems encountered during use of PKI
protected systems:
Analyzes and resolves encountered problems using Security Management System
Software, LDAP Browser software, DB2, User Self-Management, and other appropriate
tools.
15% 3. Installs, configures, and monitors usage of various PKI software, including but not limited to Entrust Security Provider software, Entrust Desktop Solutions, IdentityGuard Administration, Entrust User Management System, Entrust Out of State Administration, Entrust User Self-Management, digital signatures, and encryption.
10% 4. Implements and integrates digital certificates with electronic forms to improve workflow and efficiency and to provide digital signature and encryption capabilities where appropriate
5% 5. Performs in-state and out-of-state registration and generation process to add clients to the PKI system:

5% 6. Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field:
Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on IT products, vendors, techniques and procedures.
Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations.
5% 7. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
1.Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
2.Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Systems Services or a related Information Technology.
Specialized Skills
1.Requires three (3) years of professional experience in SSL Certificates.
2.Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems and activities.
3.Requires three (3) years of professional experience using LDAP Browser and Security Provider software.
4.Requires three (3) years of professional experience with digital signatures, encryption, and digital technology.
Preferred Qualifications
1.Three (3) years of professional experience in SSL Certificates.
2.Three (3) years of professional experience in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems and activities.
3.Three (3) years of professional experience using LDAP Browser and Security Provider software.
4.Three (3) years of professional experience with digital signatures, encryption, and digital technology.
5.One (1) year of professional experience serving as an advisor to developers.
6.One (1) year of professional experience providing guidance to customers with complex IT problems.
7.Ability to analyze and resolve issues with PKI protected systems.
8.One (1) year of professional experience installing, configuring, and monitoring various PKI software.
9.Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with agency officials, associates, vendors, clients, and others.
