A Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience providing direct patient/client services in a health, human service or community based organization, or institutional setting; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one additional year of experience.
The experience may include communicable disease, mental health, or alcohol/substance abuse counseling. School health offices are considered an institutional setting and health care providers, such as private physician's offices are considered health care settings; AND/OR performing oversight activities in a health regulatory organization to determine compliance with appropriate laws, rules or regulations; AND/OR performing responsibilities as a registered nurse; AND/OR conducting epidemiological research including assisting data collection, conducting patient interviews, abstracting medical records, participating in study design, and developing questionnaires AND/OR data analysis.
Research must have involved the study of incidence, spread, AND/OR control of communicable or chronic diseases. Laboratory bench research will not be considered qualifying.
Master's in Public Health or related degree; at least two years of experience with HIV/STD partner services and/or HIV/STD surveillance systems; at least one year of experience in medical record case review; at least one year of experience with laboratory data interpretation; at least one year of experience with outcome monitoring and CQI; at least one year of experience with linkage to care work; at least two years of experience working with internal and external partners in health care settings, county health departments and/or medical professionals.
The Public Health Representative III will conduct case record line level reviews for HIV, cluster and co-morbid HIV/STD cases to determine case prioritization and assignment to BHSFS grant-funded Services (PS) staff.
The incumbent will collaborate with BHAE and BSHE surveillance staff to obtain line level patient and partner information for review.
The incumbent will translate information to BHAE, BSHE and PS Program Managers and Technical Assistance staff to ensure priority cases are initiated rapidly and to monitor PS progress on cases. The incumbent will review surveillance data for individuals who are newly diagnosed with HIV, HIV cluster cases and out of care individuals to promote ongoing linkage and retention in HIV medical care to determine appropriateness for PS field assignment. The incumbent will represent BHSFS on the High Impact Prevention and Surveillance Project (HIPS-SNS) grant, attend project meetings with the HIPS Coordinator and Evaluator and monitoring SNS referrals by PS and SNS provided directly by molecular grant-funded PS staff.
The incumbent will access multiple confidential data systems, Accurint and other search databases. The incumbent will participate in QI activities to ensure PS work is leading to Ending the Epidemic. Other related duties as assigned.
