This position, in the COVID-19 Section, supports the organization's mission of promoting healthy behaviors, preventing injury and disease, and assuring the safe delivery of quality health care for all people in Pennsylvania through its responsibility of managing all activities related to the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC), Supplemental COVID grants, currently at 23 and totaling over $1.7 billion.Assists with planning and organization of both internal and external collaboration and coordination related to the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC), Supplemental COVID grants, currently 23, including supporting regional partnerships and the approved regional testing sites.

Assists the fiscal team with the preparation of all Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC), Supplemental COVID grant submissions by working with program leads to prepare required supplemental grant workplans based on required activities.

Assists program staff on the collection of metric reporting for supplemental grants, completed at various times, weekly, monthly, and quarterly and enters reports into the CDC's REDCap reporting system timely.

Assists program staff with the program specific content of all contracts and grant agreements either through the RFA, NSA, Master Agreement, MOU, etc. processes and works with the administrative team and fiscal teams to process agreements on behalf of program and project leads.

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours: 8:30 am

  • 4:30 pm, Monday

  • Friday; 30 minute lunch

  • You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) up 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (commonwealth title); OR a bachelor's degree andtwo years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • PA residency requirement is waived for this position.

This position supports the Department's mission to promote health behaviors and prevent injury and disease through its responsibility for viral hepatitis elimination planning activities including implementation planning, assessment of needs, management of stakeholder engagement and training/conference planning.Work involves statewide viral hepatitis elimination planning activities including coalition building, implementation planning, assessment of needs, administration of stakeholder engagement and training/conference planning. Specifically assists in developing viral hepatitis elimination plans and implementation strategies as well as assisting with partner engagement via coalition building; This work involves internal and external stakeholder management and meeting organizing. An employee would also assist with cataloging and maintaining up to date information and resources for public health education in this program area; may present educational materials to groups on various aspects of the program; develops data collection methods and analyzes data to report program activities and adherence to grant metrics and deadlines.   As part of viral hepatitis elimination planning, an employee interacts with other Department of Health employees, federal, state and local health agencies, constituent groups, service providers, community organizations and groups, task forces, coalitions, committees, initiates problem-solving strategies, resolves program problems, provides technical assistance and promotes viral hepatitis elimination program activities.   Assists epidemiologists in the administration of a public health program by performing staff work for a variety of functions involving different components or an entire specific component of a public health program involving prevention and disease management strategies of viral hepatitis to targeted population groups including healthcare providers.
