Health/Public Health Informatics and Planning/Communicable Disease Program
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, M-F
This is responsible public health nursing work focused on prevention and control of communicable disease in the community. It includes conducting disease investigations; following individuals with an infectious disease; contacting and monitoring those who had contact with someone with an infectious disease; contacting providers to get information as needed; completing disease reporting; monitoring lab reported cases.
In addition, a person in this position may provide education and information about communicable disease to the public, providers or city and county employees. Employees in this classification use leadership skills and independent judgment when completing work assignments, but decisions are made in accordance with established practice and departmental policies and procedures. Supervision is received from a supervisor with work being reviewed through established quality control measures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Nebraska.
Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
