The program will provide insight for students who have interest in the field of Public Health, specifically within HIV/AIDS.
Internship Overview
This PHD internship will provide mentorship and insight about the Brooklyn PHD Wellness program that provides free testing, treatment and linkage services for HIV, STD, and STI's. This internship program will provide:
Understanding of the current HIV/AIDS and STD landscape
Gain familiarity with community-based testing
Work directly with communities at risk for contracting HIV and other STDs
Be exposed to different cultures and communities, and learn how they affect health behaviors and outcomes.
Participate in programs that are on the frontline in the fight against HIV and STDs.
Work with a dynamic, diverse and dedicated staff
Participate in Pride events
Shadow and be mentored by the Director and Associate Director of Public Health for the Northern Bureau
