Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in environmental health protection, public health or laboratory technology (medical, microbiological or environmental) AND either twelve credit hours in biology, chemistry, geology, hydrology, and/or physics OR six credit hours in courses listed above AND six credits hours in applied sciences (environmental technology, sanitation technology, medical technology, public health, infection control or food science).

Substitution: Additional college credit hours beyond those required to meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours equaling one year.

A copy of your transcript indicating the courses you completed that meet the 12 qualifying credit hours listed above must be included. The list should include course names, credit hours and name of college where your college credits were obtained. Failure to include this list will result in disapproval of your application.

Duties Description Routine inspections of temporary residences (such as hotels, motels, campgrounds, mobile home parks, lodging and rooming houses), food service, pools, beaches and water supply inspections pursuant to specific sections of the New York State Sanitary Code.

Additional Comments Temporary, seasonal employment for the summer season, starting as early as mid-May. Occasional Saturday work may be required.

This position requires extensive travel. Appointees will be required to provide their own transportation, as inspection responsibilities extend over wide urban and rural areas. Mileage reimbursement is provided for use of personal vehicles. At the time of appointment, candidates will have to demonstrate their capacity to meet all transportation needs in carrying out their field work responsibilities.

Thank customers using the prescribed dialogue. * Inquire about service, satisfaction and document dissatisfaction. * Discreetly check vehicle for damage on incoming vehicles and direct customer to counter for completion of damage/loss report. * Use of proper statement to determine if vehicle is being returned with full tank of gas. * Complete a service alert for any mechanical and or body damage communicated by the customers. * Identify vehicles, which are on system hold for turnback, time or mileage, recall, or any other special lock and verify their movement to the proper lot location. * Identify and tag vehicles that have been flagged for grounding or preventative maintenance and verify their movement to the proper lot location. * Keep lot organized for ease of access and traffic flow. * Understand the CDW/Emerald Aisle/Choice process; knowledge of the rental/return documents, fuel services, days/extra hours/surcharges and optional coverages. * Understand the damage loss report reporting procedure.
