What You'll Be Doing
The Wake County Emergency Operations Center is seeking enthusiastic Public Health Contact Tracing/Monitoring Caller applicants to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. These positions will be benefits eligible, will have premium pay built into your initial offer of employment and have an expected duration until November 30, 2020. As a Public Health Contact Tracing/Monitoring Caller, you will support local and state efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19.
Identify and contact people who may have been exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual
Compile demographic packets and send those packets to Public Health for case investigations
Make daily calls to individuals who are isolated or quarantined and are being monitored
Gather information about their temperature/fever and general state of well-being
Inquire whether individuals have developed any new symptoms or have changed active symptoms
Collect information about the medications they are taking and document this information in Excel
Act as a primary point person to call people with an exposure to COVID-19, provide support and gather information
Provide remote monitoring of client's health conditions
Collect and record information into the database and update as conditions change
Provide education about the disease and deliver guidance on minimizing the risk of potential transmission from the contact of others in the event the contact becomes ill
Check to see if the monitored individuals have any logistical needs (medications, physician assessment, medical devices or personal) so that they can remain in quarantine
Appropriately advise clients to self-quarantine or provide other advice derived from scripts and flowcharts
Provide individuals with access to resources they might need in order to follow protocol

Working together, utilizing the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) structure, the Team is an efficient response organization. The EOC needs your help to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community members, and we have immediate opportunities available for healthcare and administrative workers including Nurses, Epidemiology Specialists, Public Health Assistants, Public Health Tracers and Call Monitors and even Logistics opportunities. The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
High school diploma or GED
One year of experience in clerical work
Equivalent education or experience is accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Prior experience working in a high-volume call center
Prior experience working for a public health department, human services department, hospital, doctors office or other medical facility

About This Position
Location: Several locations are available. Locations may change depending upon staffing needs in other areas under direction of the Emergency Operations Center
Employment Type: Full-time and part-time positions available - Positions are time limited (Ends November 30, 2020) and benefits eligible
Work Schedule: Schedules may rotate and include weekends and varying shift schedules (time of day). Overtime may be required.
Hiring Range: $15.76 - $20.88 - Includes premium pay
