The Not-for-Profit Healthcare investment banking group is the largest banking group housed within the Public Finance department, which is responsible for the Firm's relationship with issuers of tax-exempt debt. Our team is a leader in the industry and works with premier healthcare organizations across the country.

Our bankers develop solutions for the complex financing and strategic advisory needs of not-for-profit healthcare institutions across the country. Approximately 70% of the hospitals in the United States are not-for-profit, including many of the most revered and household names, and, as healthcare delivery rapidly evolves, hospital systems have become an integral centerpiece for the change in the overall healthcare ecosystem. The group provides innovative financing alternatives and strategic advice for its clients.

The Public Finance department provides exposure to all aspects of the capital markets by working closely with sales, trading and underwriting desk for prospective and live transactions. The not-for-profit healthcare investment banking group is interested in hiring an experienced Associate to join its banking team in the New York or any of its regional offices offices, which include Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco, depending on candidate preference and healthcare team needs.

Overview of Analyst job

As a Not-for-Profit Healthcare Investment Banking Associate, you will work side-by -side with colleagues from our offices around the country to create solutions that meet the diverse financial and strategic needs of our clients. You will be staffed on specific deal teams covering clients across the country. This role provides exposure to all aspects of capital markets by working closely with the Public Finance sales, trading, debt capital markets, underwriting, and credit origination as well as strategic advisory assignments including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and partnerships.

As a Full-Time Investment Banking Associate, you will work closely with both Analysts and senior colleagues to:

  • Perform debt modeling and financial analysis including credit and debt capacity analysis using Excel and other financial modeling software

  • Partner with bankers and product specialists to generate, evaluate and execute the appropriate client solutions

  • Prepare and assist in the development of client presentation materials

  • Create and organize written responses to Requests for Proposals

  • Interact with various areas across the firm to facilitate transaction execution and client needs

An aptitude for numbers and analytical thinking is critical, although successful Public Finance Analysts come from all different backgrounds.

Duties include ability to independently perform the above functions. The role will involve: preparation of marketing materials and proposals, calling on clients, development of cash flow, negotiating for mandates, reviewing legal documents and negotiating with clients, structuring transactions, research work, analysis of existing or potential transactions and/or industries, analyzing various risks and preparing credit memorandums. Management and training of junior bankers on deal teams is also an important responsibility of successful Associates.

  • Participate in all stages of transaction execution, from initial pitch to closing

  • Execute strategic advisory assignments

Qualifications:

  • We prefer at least two year of experience within the financial industry with relevant experience preferable.
