Job Summary

Part of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Center for Educational Outreach (CEO) supports and advances the University of Michigan's commitment to educational outreach and academic excellence. CEO partners with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement programs that inform, engage, and inspire a diverse community of scholars. The Public Engagement Coordinator will work closely with and reports to CEO's Associate Director to develop and execute CEO's communications and marketing strategies across an array of media, including print, web, email, social media, events, and public and media relations. The Public Engagement Coordinator will help set priorities and evaluate strategies to reach CEO's U-M and external audiences.

This is a 2 year term limited position.


  • Manage CEO's communication channels, including shared email accounts, website, social media, and Youth Hub.

  • Lead the development of content for all communication channels, including Youth Hub.

  • Manage the development of CEO toolkits and resources.

  • Manage all logistics related to CEO's communities of practice, programs, and events, including all promotion, catering, meeting agendas, etc.

  • Develop and maintain CEO's contact lists.

  • Support users of Youth Hub and the Children on Campus program registry and electronic forms.

  • Analyze and assess the effectiveness of CEO's public engagement efforts and contribute to the annual assessment and development of CEO's communications and marketing strategy.

  • Serve as CEO's planning lead for the annual Michigan Pre-College and Youth Outreach Conference.

  • Identify and promote opportunities for CEO to contribute to the national conversation on higher education access and success.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Experience with WordPress, graphic design, social media platforms, email marketing tools, and Google Analytics are desired.

  • Demonstrated writing experience for various audiences.

  • Experience planning and promoting events.

Responsibilities The project coordinator will work under CVHC's project leaders to support our various teams in planning and executing activities to achieve project goals, as well as to support business development activities across the Center. Specific responsibilities include the following: * Assist project leaders with day-to-day activities in conducting project activities, and help ensure overall maximum productivity and effectiveness across the team; * Provide professional client interface, ensure responsiveness to client requirements and concerns, and coordinate internal and external schedules; * Create, update, and monitor project workplans, external progress reports, and timelines to coordinate the teams' adherence to deliverable dates and achievement of project milestones; * Help manage processes for staff assignments, budgets, timelines, technical documentation, project briefings and reviews; * Provide business development support, including proposal writing and coordination; and * Identify opportunities to grow the Center for Value in Health Care's work Qualifications Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in health, public policy, or related field and three years of work experience in the health care field; or Master's degree and one year of work experience. * Ability to organize and coordinate complex projects and meet time-sensitive deliverables * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written * An inquisitive and innovative nature, excellent critical and analytical thinking, integrity, willingness to step into new roles, strong communication and facilitation skills, team focused mentality, and a commitment to continuously learning and improving * Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively * Advanced MS Office skills * Proposal writing experience, specifically for Federal clients, is a plus.
