KSPS Public TV is seeking a content creator to develop, produce, write, host, and supervise the production of original content to be distributed across multiple platforms, including broadcast on public television and online. The Public Affairs Producer and Host will help develop programming that strengthens the civic health of our region. This role involves creating periodic productions on topics impacting our community and collaborating with community partners to explore important issues and foster greater understanding of current affairs. The ideal candidate will bring journalism and on-camera experience, a passion for public media, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Identify content that resonates with KSPS audiences.
- Research, write, and host both short and long-form current affairs programs.
- Collaborate with production staff to plan, shoot, and edit content.
- Conduct interviews with guests and community members involved in the stories.
- Comply with journalism ethics and standards, and ensure a professional appearance, manner, and use of language throughout broadcasts.
Job Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a media personality with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with both local and national current affairs topics.
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Ethical and professional research, writing, and reporting skills.
- Strong teamwork orientation, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, or a related field, plus two years of experience in writing and producing programs; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to write and distill complex stories into accessible and engaging content for a general audience.
- Comfortable with on-camera delivery and guest interviews.
- Basic editing skills using Adobe software or equivalent.
- Ability to collaborate and innovate with others to create the best possible stories on multiple platforms.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the capability to carry projects forward independently while exercising sound judgment.
- A passion for nonprofit or public media work (highly desirable).
Certificates/Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record.
- Basic computer skills experience: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Benefits
Salary Range is $30.00 - $36.00/hr depending on experience
- Full-time, non-exempt
- Regular Schedule (M-F, 8 am - 5 pm) - up to 2 days/week remote with prior approval
- Up to 11 paid holidays (holiday must fall on a normally scheduled workday) or time and a half when working on the actual holiday
- Vacation: 96 hours annually
