The Boeing Space & Launch Division's Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) program is seeking product owners to develop a new global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground system that will manage transmission of protected tactical waveform a type of secure, anti-jam communication over Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites and terminals. The successful candidate will drive the daily execution of product development in a fast paced agile environment. We seek candidates who have strong skills in agile methodologies, software development, test automation, and system automation.

Technology areas these positions will be focused on are:

  • Agile development and product line leadership

  • Agile tool usage and management

  • Excellent communication skills

As a member of the PTES team, you will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from idea creation and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer's delivered system. Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree

Desired Qualifications:

  • Recently developed code in either Java, JavaScript, or C++ languages

  • Candidate should have experience with, or a strong working knowledge of, the agile Product Owner role.

  • Product Owner or other agile certification is a plus.

  • Candidate should have a working knowledge of agile project management tools such as Jira, VersionOne.

  • Candidate will be responsible for interfacing with various software development tools in order to accurately determine team progress and product health.

  • Candidate should have an understanding of the CI/CD process.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Responsibilities: Systems or Software Engineer to serve as Product Owner for SADID organization at Schriever AFB, CO. The Product Owner will be responsible for managing the product backlog including coordinating estimates for tasks, determining OSM build content in coordination with Government customer and Team and coordinating with Scrum Master and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads. The engineer may participate in activities to include interfacing with stakeholders, development of systems engineering plans and processes, reviews of product deliverables, and interfacing with task/product leads in producing quality reports/products. The engineer will provide analysis and quick-turn support for various MDA events. The engineer will support integration of the sensor model with existing external simulation frameworks, and element models/systems. The engineer will create presentations that describe and demonstrate advanced algorithms as implemented in the sensor model for a variety of audiences.
