POSITION PURPOSE: To provide service of food and/or beverage to all Bistro Guests in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Set up buffet table for all breakfast items. Ensure proper quality and quantity.

  • Set up coffee station and replenish as needed.

  • Pick up food from kitchen and return unused to kitchen at end of shift.

  • Obtain newspapers for guests.

  • Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.

  • Greet the guest in a friendly and courteous manner.

  • Utilize the guest's name as much as possible.

  • Input the order into the Point of Sale computer.

  • Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.

  • Interact and provide necessary service to guest.

  • Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift.

  • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.

  • Always thank guest and invite them to return.

  • Clear and reset all tables.

  • Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking service areas.

  • Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.

  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.

  • Tear down all buffet stations and realign tables for the Lounge.

  • Stock all buffet items in proper areas.

  • Lock up all dcor items in proper areas.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to maintain standards for service, steps of service and all departmental standards.

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.

  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, communicate with guests to explain and record orders.

  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.

  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.

  • Ability to carry 6-ft tables and set up properly.

  • Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sales procedures.

  • Prior food and beverage experience preferred. Prior hospitality experience preferred.

  • Cash handling experience preferred.

  • Maintain professional demeanor and ensure cleanliness of uniform.

  • Completion of checklist and cleaning duties on a daily basis.
