During School year months: 2-6 hours Saturday Mornings
During Summer months:

Description:
Instruct participants of a wide and varying age range, who are participating in the Otters Swim Lesson Program for individuals with disabilities.
Duties:
Teach proper form and technique within class outline.
Demonstrate, explain, and instruct in an informative manner to children and adults.
Teach and maintain effectiveness of the swim lesson program.
Maintain class rosters, lesson plans, mid-season progress reports, and report cards.
Maintain appropriate contact with parents of swim lesson participants and address questions or concerns of parents in a timely manner.
Ensure swim lesson equipment is in good working order before use.
Wear assigned uniforms at all times while on duty.
Attend all pertinent departmental/park district meetings and in-house training sessions.
Conduct self-according to the policies and procedures established by the park district.
Participate in park district Safety and Training Program to ensure that work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner.
Qualifications
Education:
Junior in High School or above.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
Teaching swim lessons preferred.
Working with children or adults with disabilities preferred.
Knowledge:
Lifeguard and/or Water Safety Instructor desirable.
Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
Swim lesson plan development/execution.
License / Certification:
Lifeguard and/or Water Safety Instructor certification required.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within one (1) year.
