The Tishman Environment and Design Center is a research and action center housed at The New School university in New York City. The Tishman Environment and Design Center integrates bold design, policy and social justice approaches to tackle the climate crisis and advance environmental justice. We serve as a resource center for environmental justice communities and as the sustainability hub for the New School campus community.
We are a collaborative resource center and convenor for environmental justice groups, designers, policy makers, students and faculty that supports and advances bold environmental and climate justice action in accordance with the Jemez Principles.
We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated Program Coordinator to support all aspects of the Tishman Center programming and action. The Program Coordinator will report directly to the Assistant Director. This is a part-time position working 21 hours per week.
Job responsibilities include:
Contribute to the planning and execution of public and private events and provide oversight of Center calendar
Contribute to the Tishman Centers Annual Earth Week Celebration helping to develop content and provide logistical support
Staff occasional evening and weekend events such as Earth Week
Coordinate regular team meetings, draft agendas, and provide record keeping for ongoing projects
Contribute to the Centers external research projects by providing background research and data visualization
Maintain and advance Tishman Center website and social media
Provide logistical and administrative support to Center staff including some HR and expense reporting duties
Create promotional and marketing materials such as flyers and social media campaigns; using Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as InDesign
Other tasks as needed
