Job Description

Part-Time Positions are not eligible for full benefits. Uniforms, Equipment, & Social Security Contributions are provided.

This part-time police officer position will provide support services to static security details, judicial security, courtroom security, and other ancillary support services to augment Bartlett Police Department operations. This position will require no more than twenty (20) hours of work per week or a total of no more than one hundred (100) hours per month.

Minimum Qualifications:

1). Candidates must have previously served as a Tennessee POST certified law enforcement officer in the past five (5) years and ended their service in good standing, or

2). Previously served as a part-time, temporary, reserve, or auxiliary law enforcement officer or special deputy and completed one hundred twenty (120) hours of Tennessee POST approved training by the employing agency and ended their service in good standing.

Applications for part-time police officer must also meet the following requirements for employment and certification by the State of Tennessee:

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.

• Must maintain a current Tennessee Driver's License

• Must not have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendre to any felony or any violation of any federal or state laws relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor, or controlled substances, and not have been released or discharged under other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States.

• Must have his/her fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

• Must pass an oral interview process.

• Must pass a drug test.

• Must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician (during the employment process after a conditional offer of employment has been tendered by the City at the City's expense and under the requirements outlined in General Order 05-06).

• Must pass psychological evaluation post conditional offer of employment at the City's expense.

• Must have good moral character
