GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Springfield Technical Community College seeks applicants for the position of Parking Clerk in the Parking and Transportation department. The ideal candidate works together with all students, faculty and staff to create an atmosphere of trust and respect in which all can succeed.
Oversees college parking system.
Provides service to customers in a professional manner
Greets, assists and/or directs students, visitors.
Assigns and distributes of student bus passes, student and employee decals each semester.
Upholds all parking policies.
Inputs, retrieves and presents data using a computer.
Types and maintains various records and reports.
Communicates with various departments on campus.
Communicates with vendors.
Picks up and delivers the mail for the Parking Office.
Responds to emails and phone calls.
Facilitates parking ticket appeals.
Makes suggestions for process improvement.
Minimum high school diploma, some college preferred.
Effective verbal and listening communication skills and decision-making skills.
Must be able to problem-solve in stressful situations.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be reliable and responsible.
Must be able to effectively and professionally interact with difficult customers.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to multi-task.
Computer skills required, including the ability to create and use Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, and email.
Duties normally performed in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, sit, climb, walk and reach overhead as needed.
WORK SCHEDULE: 18.5 hours per week; Hours may vary, some weekends may be required
