Part-time CNA faculty instructor is under the immediate direction and supervision of the CNA Coordinator and Director of Nursing Programs. Certified Nursing Assistant faculty are accountable for high quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the College. These persons will instruct nursing assistant students in classroom, lab and clinical settings and ensure that all training and skill activities adhere to the NC Division of Health Service Regulation guidelines.
The Instructor's work schedule may include days, evenings and/or weekends.
The successful candidate must possess the following: (Show these and related qualifications on application)
BSN, and/or diploma RN; minimum two years of direct patient care as RN; active and current unencumbered NC registered nurse license;
Experience teaching adults or supervising nursing assistants.
Applicants must organize all documentation required by a NC State approved Nurse Aide Training Program
Effective working knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet and e-mail services
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with members of the Board of Trustees, college staff, students, and with the general public
Effective discretion in the handling of confidential information and sensitive materials
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse student population
One Year experience in a long-term care facility or in providing care for the chronically ill and familiarity with local health care facilities.
