We are excited to expand our team to include two full-time counselors, a clinical case manager with a social work aspect, and a part-time family nurse practitioner. VACANT POSITION TITLE: Nurse Practitioner

Number of positions: 1

LOCATION: Minot, ND

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: 8-month part-time contract

Hours Per Week: 8

CLOSING DATE: Open until filled.

Salary:

$50-$65 per hour

This is a non-benefited position.

JOB SUMMARY: The position requirements are as follows but not limited to:

This position is a contract position that begins mid-August and runs through mid-May

  • Provides professional and technical assistance to deliver general health care services and prevention programs to the Minot State University community.

  • Collaborates with health care members in the Minot Community to plan and provide appropriate health care programs for Minot State students.

  • To assume responsibility for the direct care of the students of Minot State University as well as the teaching, counseling and serving as a campus consultant on health-related matters.

  • Provide diagnosis, treatment and follow-up management of common acute illnesses, injuries, and management of chronic stable conditions.

  • Seeks opportunities to promote professional and personal growth through available continuing educational activities. Delegate and supervise clinical nurse (when position is present).

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate all students in a holistic manner, including the physiological, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual aspects utilizing clinical experience and instrumentation provided in the MSU Student Health Center.

  • Follow written protocols relayed in the collaborative agreement to the students of Minot State University within the scope of practice for a nurse practitioner licensed in North Dakota. Document in the student's chart each visit to the Student Health Center as agreed upon with the collaborative physician.

  • Augment the care provided by students' primary care physician for chronic health problems, for example: hypertension, diabetes and asthma.

  • Provide emergency medical treatment per protocol and to the level of legal training and ability.

  • Work in conjunction with the State Health Department to prevent transmission of viruses, STI's and other communicable diseases.

  • Other job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a clinical setting as a Nurse Practitioner.

  • Overall knowledge and experience in adult health.

  • Current unencumbered license as a Nurse Practitioner in North Dakota. Prescriptive Authority.

  • Able to function independently and self-motivated.
