The Division for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Pace University is seeking to hire a part-time Graduate Student Intern for students for our Pleasantville (PLV) Campus. This part-time role reports directly to the Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (oMA). The Graduate Student Intern will support the development of all oMA: DEI programming. The role also offers an on-campus housing component and the Intern should be able to start on or around 09/01/2024.

Position Duties

  • Assist with Guardian reporting and DEI inquiries.

  • Serve as DEI liaison for the Black Student Union, Latin American Student Organization, PLV Student Government Association, and other student organizations on an as needed basis.

  • May serve as staff representative/support for an affinity-based student group(s) such as BSU, LASO, Women of Color Collective, Men of Color Collective etc.

  • Assist the Director with the planning and implementation of Weeks of Welcome programs and other related events for the academic year.

  • Participate in the co-facilitation of New Student Orientation: Stand with Me workshops.

  • Assist in the development and co-facilitation of UNV 101 workshops.

  • Conceptualize and implement three to four events per semester for Black and Latino/x male students and staff.

  • Assist in the creation of division initiatives and traditions.

  • Participate in weekend PaceBound programs and table University events to promote the division.

  • Partner with NYC DEI Coordinator for Students for co-sponsored programs across campuses.

  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies and publications for oMA: DEI programs.

  • Manage social media to promote campus activities events.

  • Support the division in all university related programs and functions.

  • Participate in professional development on/off campus.

  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Work Hours

Exact hours to be determined with supervisor; generally up to 20 hours per week. Ability to work non-traditional hours (i.e. evenings and weekends) for student programs, etc.

  • Bachelor's degree required; currently enrolled or completed master's in Higher Education Administration or related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and professionalism to navigate sensitive topics.

  • Prior experience with DEI, Student Engagement or Multicultural Affairs preferred.

  • Familiarity with Pleasantville/White Plains area and/or Pace student experience preferred.
