Job Summary

This Part-time Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for assisting and reviewing UPS Small Package dispatch activity to ensure timely and proficient service. He/she assists with dispatch planning and is responsible for ensuring that service, safety, and cost goals are met.

Core responsibilities in supervising dispatch operations are to coordinate with others to ensure that dispatch plans are executed efficiently and to ensure adequate staffing and equipment levels for transportation needs. The Part-time Dispatch Supervisor oversees load/tractor planning and assignments, monitors load movement, and tracks the condition of equipment. This position also reviews, analyzes, and tracks various dispatch and service reports and schedules. Using this data, the Part-time Dispatch Supervisor creates efficient dispatch plans, verifies service levels, addresses performance issues, and incorporates modifications such as new customers, new locations and additional loads into dispatch plans. The Part-time Dispatch Supervisor also oversees yard operations. This involves coordinating drivers with load volume, ensuring that trailers are in the correct locations and are loaded or empty as planned, and confirming accurate trailer inventory.

Other Duties

  • Review driver hours to ensure regulatory compliance

  • Conduct hazardous materials audits

  • Review safety reports

  • Verify appropriate driver uniforms and utilization of safe work methods

  • Determine employee training needs to produce continuous development plans

  • Provide feedback and support

  • Conduct performance evaluations and resolve individual and group performance issues

In addition, you will support global Assurance, Risk and Internal Controls projects based on special requests.ABB is a global leader in power and automation technologies and the Corporate Function Finance division supports employees developing everything from safer mines and transformers to highly-skilled robots. 2018-12-31 Line Management / Project lead Tasks: Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Provide leadership and oversight as 2nd line of defense to ensure operational management maintains a robust risk and control environment together with the team in the Hub. * Provide risk management and control design expertise; be a business partner, cooperate closely with businesses and functions and support them in implementing ARIC solutions in their area of responsibility. * Support process design enhancements to standardize processes and controls (in coordination with Global Finance Process Owners) to simplify and rationalize the control environment. * Support process reviews to identify sustainable control improvements. * Perform quality reviews to ensure high quality risk and control execution. * Provide business insights to operational management to support achievement of business objectives. * Assist in the implementation of local or Group wide methodology changes. * Encourage use of technology to enhance the control environment, processes and controls, i.e. by identification of potentials for automation of processes and/or controls. * Facilitate and monitor the Units Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process support and guide management in the design, development and maintenance of effective risk and control management practices. * Ensure that the Internal Control methodology is strictly implemented and maintained. * Coordinate the timely planning and execution of management testing of controls in line with the Group's methodology and timeline. * Support and oversee the remediation and deficiency assessment process and proactively work with the Process and Control owners to establish proper remediation plans. * Support the assessment of deficiencies and their underlying root causes. * Monitor and guide management in the timely and sustainable remediation of deficiencies. * Deliver periodic training and expertise to Process Owners, Control Owners and Control Performers to ensure successful execution of roles and responsibilities. * Support and educate all levels of local organization on the importance of risks and controls. * Establish constant and transparent communication with Group ARIC team on relevant matters. * Participate in global Assurance, Risk and Internal Controls initiatives and projects. Requirements: Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Finance and minimum of eight (8) years of experience in finance, audit or internal control. Preferred Qualifications: * Leadership skills accompanied by strong intercultural skills. * Service-oriented mindset; solid commitment to quality and continuous improvement – can do attitude. * Strong communication skills - both written and oral. * Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to independently draw conclusions. * High degree of flexibility. * Intermediate level of problem solving skills. * Proven ability to effectively work under pressure and within tight deadlines. * Managerial courage to confront difficult issues with the appropriate response. * Good business knowledge and working experience in the area of process improvements. * Solid understanding of internal controls methodology, practices and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). * Sound working knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems preferably SAP. * Fluent in English language (spoken and written); additional languages in the geographic area. * International business experience is an advantage. * Good project management and coordination skills. * Professional qualification equivalent to CPA/CIA/CISA is an advantage. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
