Position Description Summary/Purpose:
Under the supervision of the LPN Program Director at Goodwin University, the Department of Nursing at Goodwin University is seeking an MSN prepared individual to serve as an adjunct clinical faculty. Clinical rotations will take place in a variety of health care settings (hospital, long-term care facility, clinic, etc.). The PT clinical instructor would be responsible for overseeing LPN students during their clinical rotation as well as evaluating their associated written clinical packet and other assignments. We are looking for part-time candidates for our Bridgeport, CT location. The candidate would be a Goodwin employee expected to work in Bridgeport, CT.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Facilitate the clinical experience in acute care, long-term care or clinic settings
Facilitate the clinical experience in the laboratory
Review and provide weekly feedback to students on clinical packets
Complete a midterm and final evaluation for each student
Attend professional development activities to remain informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction/clinical practice
Provide a meaningful pre- and post-clinical conference to enhance student's clinical learning/experience
Become thoroughly familiar with all university policies and procedures and comply with all university policies and procedures
Attend at least one departmental meeting per semester
Support a multicultural environment and embrace the university's rich diversity
Maintain a professional appearance
Demonstrate professional attitude, philosophy, compassion, and commitment that promotes student growth and learning
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Program Director (LPN)
Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed
Other Functions:
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
Master's degree in nursing
Current and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible)
3-5 years of nursing experience
Clinical expertise in current evidence-based practice
Teaching experience with nursing students is preferred
Ability to exercise individual initiative, independent action, and sound judgment
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to work collegially in a team environment
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
