POSITION: PT Assistant Softball Coach

LOCATION: Devils Lake, ND

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a part-time, non-benefitted, working approximately 19 hours/week.

BACKGROUND CHECK: LRSC does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities include coaching, scheduling, having full squads, promotion of the softball program and such other duties as are assigned by the Head Coach and Director of Athletics.

This position maintains the inventory of the equipment, gear, and uniforms in designated locations, ensures needed equipment is available for all games and practices; set up practice equipment or items necessary for activities as directed by the head coach, instructs players to use appropriate techniques at designated positions as directed by the head coach, maintains scorebook and statistics, if directed, input or update statistics on the Presto Sports website as soon as possible following the game/games, maintain scorebook and statistics, updates and maintain current bat list and before the game, verify all bats used are identified on the list prior compression testing and review by the umpires, acquires the current, up-to-date list from the NCAA, assists in the set up or the preparation of equipment, gear, and other items necessary for the game and proper storage after completion of the game, during out of town trips, assure all required equipment is available, coaches on the bases as directed by the head coach. Relay information to the base runners consistent with team philosophies and provides input to the head coach regarding game decisions.

TEAM PHILOSOPHY: The team's philosophy is to continuously work hard to improve yourself to help the team be successful, consistently exhibit a positive demeanor, both through appropriate body language and verbal communications, communicate a consistent message to the players and relaying the philosophies of the team, assist with recruiting of softball players as directed by the head coach.

Forward any communications or contact information to the head coach in a timely manner, relay any observations or occurrences regarding the team that may affect the team philosophies. Examples could include inappropriate comments or actions by another player or person; injuries; illnesses; or any situation that would violate team, school, or athletic department policies.

SALARY: $1,500 per season.
