CATEGORICAL FUND Grant funded through June 30, 2026 Under the direction of the Director of Special Education or designee, serves a Districtwide School Psychologist for students in preschool through 8th grade and will provide direct and indirect services to students, parents, and school staff; participates in the Individual Education Program (IEP) process; oversees and provides guidance to assigned paraprofessionals; promotes early identification of students with social-emotional issues and recommends appropriate interventions, supports, and services; evaluate and assist with the specialized needs of students in an educational setting; addresses barriers preventing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success including welfare and attendance; presents and participates in parent trainings and staff development, and assists in the development of preventative services to both general and special education students.

Requirements / Qualifications

Master's Degree in social work or related field and experience working with school-aged children and or school related mental health programs Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential in School Psychology required Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification preferred Minimum of 5 years teaching or school psychologist related experience Bilingual (Spanish) desirable *SEE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MORE DETAILS

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Appearance, grooming and personality, which establish a desirable example for parents, staff and students. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to consistently sit for periods of time; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands and fingers to touch, feel or operate standard office equipment including technology, and reach with hands and arms; walking level surface, stand, bend and stoop; lift/carry objects 1-25 pounds; push 1-75 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision to read and enter data into a computer; ability to distinguish sounds in transmission, speaking. Mental Requirements While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be regularly be required to use written and oral communication skills; administer and interpret assessment data; read, interpret, and compile complex records, reports, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; use math and mathematical reasoning; perform highly detailed work; work on multiple and concurrent tasks; work with frequent interruptions; work under intensive deadlines; and interact with District and program personnel, school administrators, managers, staff, vendors, the public, and others encountered in the course of work. Appointment to this position predicated upon submitting a negative TB result. In addition, the selected candidate must complete the state fingerprinting requirements and the district must receive a clearance by the California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Within three days of employment, all new employees shall show appropriate documents, which certify that they are legally eligible to work in the United States.
