Position Summary:

The mission for the Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders (CAND) at UCI is to provide help and hope to individuals with ASD, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders and their families through excellent clinical services, education & training, research, and community engagement. The Psychologist will work amongst a team of professionals including psychologists, medical professionals, behavioral consultants, educational consultants, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and a variety of faculty, staff as well as with graduate students, residents, and pre-and post-doctoral fellows.

The Psychologist position will work under the general supervision of the CAND Executive Director to support the overall objectives of CAND. When providing clinical effort towards a research project, will work under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator for that effort.

This incumbent will provide direct clinical care to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients, such as diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and related services to individuals with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition, they may provide adult learners with teaching and educational opportunities (e.g., community professionals, parents, and caretakers) through workshops, classes, conference presentations, and/or other formats. The employee may provide teaching and consultative services to other professionals and health care trainees such as graduate students, residents, post-docs, and practicum students.

May be involved in community meetings and outreach working with various individuals, such as educators, families, students, and community providers. Assist with additional duties as needed.

$81,891.36 - $150,503.04 (Annual Salary)

Required:

Clinical experience (5+ years) with individuals from early childhood through young adulthood (at least 22 years of age) and their families Clinical experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health comorbidities, such as anxiety and depression.

Licensed clinical or educational psychologist in the State of California or license-eligible • Clinical experience (5+ years) with individuals from early childhood through young adulthood (at least 22 years of age) and their families • Clinical experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health comorbidities, such as anxiety and depression. • Experience across four modules of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) • Familiar with the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) • Well-versed in the implementation of evidence-based treatments • Model high standards of professional, responsible, accountable, and ethical behavior • Demonstrates positive and effective communication skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills • Ability to negotiate multilayered regulatory systems, and manage competing priorities, and if unable to do so, ability to seek guidance from supervisor in a timely manner • An approach to working with colleagues that enhances collaboration and team building • Understanding of Special Education regulations

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken, receptive, and written) • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system • Research reliable across all 4 modules of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) • Familiar with the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) • Training/workshop experience, specifically related to the following topics: Special Education, ASD, and ADOS.

Special Conditions Required:

May occasionally need to represent CAND during virtual events or when in-person community activities are reestablished, such as Clinic in the Park, Autism Speaks community booths, developmental screenings, or wellness activities.
