Develops, plans & supervises all Psychology, Chemical Dependency, & Behavioral Therapy program activities at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare (TVBH): provides supervision to psychology staff (i.e., Psychologists, students &/or interns), SAMI staff, and Behavior Therapy staff; schedules & assigns work activities; periodically reviews individual psychological & SAMI assessments completed on patients; assures compliance with certifying &/or accrediting agencies (e.g., Ohio Dept. Of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS), Joint Commission (JC), Medicare); reviews work & evaluates assignments;; encourages & provides consultations on psychological aspects of research; acts as preceptor to psychological staff & other hospital personnel as required &/or requested by providing demonstrations of clinical psychological services; coordinates & periodically reviews Performance Improvement activities as required by TVBH/OhioMHAS policies/procedures &/or accrediting/certifying agencies; develops treatment programs & implements as approved; periodically collaborates with service line directors, department heads, supervisor &/or Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to maximize staff effectiveness & therapeutic efficiency; develops goals & objectives for assigned department; assures that the department has a well-defined & structured mission, quality assurance/performance driven plan of both quality control and quality improvement & that all data & performance measures are disseminated to staff & leaders; maintains & revises department manual annually; evaluates staff & program performance; assures compliance with standards of care as defined by Joint Commission (JC), CMS & appropriate licensing bodies; prepares quarterly & annual reports to supervisor
Provides clinical and administrative supervision to staff as required:; con-ducts scheduled supervisory meetings with staff; provides counsel and direction to staff works with staff to establish performance goals as needed; con-ducts & completes staff performance evaluations; approves & disapproves leave requests according to hospital policy & applicable labor contracts; initiates & recommends any disciplinary actions according to the applicable un-ion contract & hospital policy; recruits qualified personnel for vacant positions; interviews, reviews credentials & recommends for hire; develops & implements in-service training programs; works with Staff Development Dept. to develop & implement programs to keep abreast of licensure requirements; works collaboratively with service line directors, department heads & site supervisors in planning & implementing policies & programs;
Attends &/or participates in various hospital, departmental, & community meetings, seminars, &/or workshops as directed/scheduled; participates in clinical staff meetings with supervisor; attends scheduled mandated training sessions from Staff Development; participates in development of training sessions for psychological Mandatory Continuing Education Units; makes presentations as required; attends conferences, seminars, & meetings representing State of Ohio or TVBH Psychology Dept.; at-tends other assigned committee meetings. Knowledge of TVBH procedures for responding to workplace incidents & working knowledge of TVBH safety & prevention programs, including infection control.
Knowledge of TVBH safety procedures that minimize risk to patients & staff in a hospital or community environment. Possess the ability to identify risks to safety & health & respond & report per TVBH policies
License to practice psychology in Ohio pursuant to Section 4732.09 and 4732.21 of revised code; 12 mos. exp. as a licensed psychologist; 1 course in employee trg. & development or 3 mos. exp. providing work direction & training or supervision to psychology students, assistants, or psychologists.
