Job Description

The University of Missouri Kansas City Counseling Services is looking to hire qualified candidates for a Psychologist role. This position will be responsible for the generalist duties described below.

  • Essential Job Functions:

o Identify and schedule the types of groups needed to support the mental health needs of our student population and service delivery model of our center.

o Provide process and psycho-educational group therapy services.

o Provides individual therapy, crisis intervention, clinical supervision, outreach, and consultation services to the university community.

o Provides clinical services to diverse client populations and whose clinical work, supervision, and community intervention is infused with ethical and multicultural competency and who demonstrate clear interest and commitment to all dimensions of diversity.

o Service provision includes face-to-face and tele-health psycho therapeutic services to our community.

o Evidence of strong generalist clinical skills.

o Demonstrated effectiveness in assessment and intervention with a range of clinical issues and complex diagnostic concerns.

o Demonstrated knowledge of developmental issues of college students and commitment to student success.

o Outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrated in speaking, listening, and writing.

o Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in developing outreach education programming.

o Consults with faculty and staff regarding student problems, training, program and organizational issues.

o Represents Counseling Services on University committees and participates in the Division of Student Affairs programs as assigned.

o Demonstrated ability to work collegiality and collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student organizations.

o Other duties as assigned.

o This position requires some evening and weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications

A Doctorate degree in Psychology and licensure (or eligibility to be licensed) as a Psychologist within the State of Missouri.

Preferred Qualifications

Active full licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Missouri

Active full licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Kansas

Experience working with diverse populations including college-age students

Experience working in a University / College Setting

Clinical Supervisory experience of Master's and/or Doctoral level trainees / interns

Anticipated Hiring Range

The maximum salary for this role is $85,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
