Mental Health Professionals Make A Difference
The School-Based Mental Health program is an energetic and thriving multidisciplinary clinical team of psychiatrists, clinical social workers, neuropsychology, psychologists, and allied professionals embedded in the Clinical Services of the Division of Pediatric Psychiatry. The program provides direct evidenced based clinical care to elementary and middle school children on site at a participating local public schools; conducts diagnostic/intake evaluations and individual, family and group psychotherapy with children and their parents; also provides teacher and school consultation, behavioral intervention in the classroom/school and helps families navigate the board of education system. The Prevention Program which is a subset of SBMH, is working on developing a social emotional learning curriculum for community schools from 3K-5th grade. This donor funded program seeks to expand the integration with school-based teams to provide care where children and families need it most and create integrated systems to enhance children's functioning across domains.

Responsibilities will include primary involvement in tiered prevention programming within the school system, which includes curriculum development, implementation of curriculum, training of school staff, and program evaluation. Opportunities to be involved in clinical research may be available, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination. Coordination with school teams, teaching and supervision of trainees available as needed.
This part time position is grant funded.
Preferred Criteria
New York State Department of Education Psychologist License
Competence working with multi-cultural communities
School-based mental health experience
Required Criteria
Doctorate degree in Psychology
New York State License in Psychology eligible
Limited Permit holders must obtain NYS license within 18 months of hire.

$125,000-$152,000/Annual
